SASANIAN KINGS. Shapur II, 309-379. Drachm (Silver, 30 mm, 4.05 g, 3 h), Kabul (?). Draped bust of Shapur II to right, wearing a mural crown with korymbos; before head, ‘šhpwh[ry]’ = ‘Šābuhr’ (‘Shapur’ in Pahlavi). Rev. Fire altar with ribbons flanked by two attendants; bust to right in flames; on the altar shaft , ‘lʾst’ = ‘rāst’ (‘true’ in deteriorated Pahlavi). Göbl type Ia/6a. SNS III/2, type Ib1/3a (attendants with different crowns). Nicely toned. Some weakness and marks, otherwise, very fine.
